Web browsers are software applications for recieving, displaying and traversing information resources on the internet. An information resource is identified by a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI/URL) that may be a web page, image, video or other piece of content.
It started with first two internet browsers:
- internet explorer
- Netscape navigator
Over time internet browsers started to increase
Plugin – A software that add a specific feature to the users computer.
- open 3D
- Flash – this plugin was created to show compressed content but as time passed it was installed to display web pages and play games
Cookies are a way of keeping track of your preferences and it also helps websites recognise you, HTTP cookies are small pieces of information that will be stored within the users browser.
FTP (File Transfer Protocol): it is the standard network protocol used to transfer computer files from one server to the user using a client – server model on a computer network. it relies on two client channels one from the client and one from the server.
